News Release
Kearney hospitals, public safety agencies participating in full-scale disaster drill Nov.17

A multi-casualty full-scale disaster drill is planned from 10 am to noon on Friday, November 17 in Kearney, with specific activity set to take place at CHI Health Good Samaritan and Kearney Regional Medical Center.
Don’t be alarmed if you happen upon a staged disaster, complete with emergency lights, sirens, community members dressed to resemble wounded casualties and hospital staff near both Kearney hospitals. It is only a drill.
Good Samaritan and Kearney Regional, in conjunction with other public safety agencies including Buffalo County Emergency Management, and Tri Cities Medical Response System (TRIMRS) are participating in this annual learning experience. Drills test the disaster plan of hospitals and response partners, help to identify gaps, determine how best to close those gaps and provide an opportunity to share best practices. Community partnership can save lives in an actual disaster event.
